Bloglines

I had this problem of finding a program for my PC and my Mac that would fulfill my needs as a RSS reader. I fell short on both ends. I would find one that I liked on the Mac and then one I liked even more on the PC. But, when I read feeds on one of the systems, it was still marked as unread on the other. A simple little problem, but a nuisance that I didn’t want to deal with.

Then, one day, I was beginning my search again online to find that RSS reader that would meet everyone of my needs and desires. I stumbled across bloglines.com and I thought that I would give it a shot. I signed up and then imported all of my blogs and feeds into their easy to use interface. What then happened hooked me. Hero

Kono kuni wa mada, hontô no hero wo shiranai [Japan] (“This land doesn’t know a real hero. Yet.)

Because of lines like the above tagline I wanted to see Yimou Zhang’s Hero. From the previews I was kinda excited to see the movie and to see what it would end up being about. I did not, and still don’t, know the history of what the movie covers. The plot seemed interesting from the trailers and it seemed like a movie that I would enjoy. So, what the heck, why not see it? However, after sitting though the almost two hour movie I have some thoughts about what I saw. Continue reading “Hero”

Collateral

Tonight I went to the Cinerama to see Collateral with Anthony and Geritt. The ramp that we parked in was so low that I was afraid of hitting my head on the I-Beams. Geritt’s antena on his truck was twanging all the way up until we parked. It was humorous to the point that it was silly. But, back to the movie… I had heard good things about this movie and wanted to see it. From what I read I was excited, but was I so excited when I left? Continue reading “Collateral”

Eric Clapton Concert

Last night was, well, how should I put it? Ah, yes. Amazing.

I knew that Eric Clapton was a God on the guitar, but damn, last night he just blew me away. He just put himself somewhere in my mind that not many musicians go and he is there with good company. For 2 hours he rocked Key Arena and I was just amazed. I can’t say that enough. He played a very balanced mix of the old stuff as well has some of his new material.

Bourne Supremacy

Last night I went to see the Bourne Supremacy at Majestic Bay with the Info Crew. I was really looking forward to seeing this movie because it looked really good in the trailers and the end of Identity just lent itself to this movie.

We didn’t have the best of seats in the theatre (3rd row), so the movie was quite shaky throughout. But, the storyline of this movie added a lot to where the first movie left off. So, for me, it was worth seeing and I would recommend it to anyone.

I would usually have more of a review on this but I just want to end by saying this: Go see it. It’s that simple.

The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership

Well, this is book number two of the week that I have completed and again it is a very good book. I don’t really know what it was about this book that made me purchase it, but I will venture a guess that it was on the Amazon.com top 100 list and that I thought it looked interesting. Or, I found a book that was interesting and then this was recommended by someone who had read the book that I was looking at. In any case this is a very good book and I am glad that I took the time to read it.

King Arthur

Last night Tho, Jamie, My Brother Paul, and I went and saw King Arthur at Meridian.

The movie was the basic tale of Arthur and his knights and the film was done very well. It wasn’t blow me away good, but the film was very well done. For a movie that was 2 hours long it went by really quick. I would say that if you like medieval history that you should go and see this movie. It is not an epic like Gladiator (which I say a lot), but it was good. The acting by the Arthur and Guenevere characters was very good and it added a lot to the film. The scenery was fabulous, but the story was just too similar to other movies coming out in this genre. Even though this story is really different from the others.

So, I’d recommended the movie if you like medieval history or the story of Arthur, but other than, wait for the rental.
