4G iPod

OMG There is a new iPod coming out tomorrow! It will have the same scroll wheels as the iPod Mini and it will also boast a 12 hour battery life. They are a little thinner and come in a minimum size of 20GB. You also have the ability to slow tracks down on the fly for those of you who DJ with your iPod. There is also rumor that they will also come in a enormous 60GB size too. This just might make me upgrade my 2G iPod. Oh yea, there is also a $100 price cut!

Sleep Was Never So Good

Last night I was literally burning up and I thought something was wrong with me. I felt achy everywhere and my face was bright red. It was suggested that I take a cold shower, but I instead sat in front of the A/C unit to cool off enough until I went to bed. That is when the best night of sleep occurred.

I went to sleep a little before midnight and I didn’t wake-up until 11:30. Yeah, no waking up in between either. I think that my brother even came in the room to use the bathroom to shower and I didn’t even hear him come in or out. I was passed out. That has to have been the best night of sleep that I had in a long time.

The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership

Well, this is book number two of the week that I have completed and again it is a very good book. I don’t really know what it was about this book that made me purchase it, but I will venture a guess that it was on the Amazon.com top 100 list and that I thought it looked interesting. Or, I found a book that was interesting and then this was recommended by someone who had read the book that I was looking at. In any case this is a very good book and I am glad that I took the time to read it.

Bite of Seattle

Fooding has never been better. Tonight Jamie, Anthony, my Brother Paul and I went to Seattle Center for the Bite of Seattle. I have not been to the Bite before, but I have been to similar events before. There were lots of people around and the weather could not have been better. We must have walked around enough to see all the stands. Luckily we were not too terribly hungry to begin with or else I would have spent a lot more money. I mean, I was all proud of myself for mooching off of the free samples and only spending $11 the entire night. I had an elephant ear, pad thai and fried rice, strawberry shortcake, and fried bananas. Good food and good times. Now I am feeling the wrath of a food coma…

Next Fooding Event: MN State Fair

King Arthur

Last night Tho, Jamie, My Brother Paul, and I went and saw King Arthur at Meridian.

The movie was the basic tale of Arthur and his knights and the film was done very well. It wasn’t blow me away good, but the film was very well done. For a movie that was 2 hours long it went by really quick. I would say that if you like medieval history that you should go and see this movie. It is not an epic like Gladiator (which I say a lot), but it was good. The acting by the Arthur and Guenevere characters was very good and it added a lot to the film. The scenery was fabulous, but the story was just too similar to other movies coming out in this genre. Even though this story is really different from the others.

So, I’d recommended the movie if you like medieval history or the story of Arthur, but other than, wait for the rental.

PHP 5

The long awaited release of PHP 5 is here! This should be an exciting update to the PHP engine as there is better integration for XML and also a slew of updated methods. The following is taken from the front page of php.net:

Some of the key features of PHP 5 include:

  • The Zend Engine II
with a new object model and dozens of new features.
  • XML support has been completely redone in PHP 5, all extensions are now
focused around the excellent libxml2 library
    (http://www.xmlsoft.org/).
  • A new SimpleXML extension for easily accessing and manipulating XML as
PHP objects. It can also interface with the DOM extension and vice-versa.
  • A brand new built-in SOAP extension for interoperability with Web Services.
  • A new MySQL extension named MySQLi for developers using MySQL 4.1 and later.
This new extension includes an object-oriented interface in addition to
a traditional interface; as well as support for many of MySQL’s new features,
    such as prepared statements.
  • SQLite has been bundled with PHP. For more information on SQLite,
    please visit their website.

  • Streams have been greatly improved, including the ability to access
    low-level socket operations on streams.
  • And lots more…

For changes since Release Candidate 3, please consult the
ChangeLog.

For those of you adventurous enough to try it out, you can download it here. Hmm… now I just need to figure out how to use all the new good stuff in PHP 5. That, and I hope that when/if my host upgrades to PHP 5 that it doesn’t break my site.
